Youth Ministry Lessons: It is estimated that over 12.3 million adults and children are the victims of forced labor, bonded labor and sex slavery around the world. Do you find this number hard to believe?



Just as boys look up to and want to be like their fathers, and in recent days a controversial video has gone viral that shows that little girls want to be like their mothers, look like mommy and do the things mommy does.



Youth Group Lessons: In a perfect world, mothers would automatically set aside their wants and needs for those of their children. But that’s in a perfect world and our world is anything but perfect.

There seems to be a huge amount of pressure on teenage boys to lose their virginity. Sex is almost seen as a rite of passage, a proof of manhood, for young men and the response is usually pride and respect when a peer learns that a friend has slept with a girl.

Youth Lessons: In Florida a controversial law titled “Stand Your Ground” was recently passed. The law states that an individual is allowed to use force in self-defense, including deadly force, without fear of criminal repercussions if they feel their life is in danger.

Youth Group Resources: There’s an interesting case pending that could change the definition of responsibility when it comes to juveniles committing crimes, and the parents who drop the ball.

Youth Lessons: Going back to the days of one room school houses, parents would not have batted an eye if their child received hand slaps with a ruler or was spanked with a wooden paddle by the teacher.
