Upside down, downside up, front side up, any which way. A great game that can be done anywhere, that is a great brain tumbler and gets the students thinking. This can be done with groups or every man for themselves!

Materials: Sheets of paper. Pens.

Inside or Outside: Inside

This can be a group activity or everyone for themselves.

Give everyone (or team) a piece of paper and pen.

When everyone is ready, say out loud a random word.

Like “Snake”

The students then on the piece of paper write “snake” down the left hand side of the paper.

S
N
A
K
E

And on the right side of the paper they write it down the reverse.

E
K
A
N
S

The teams then have to Fill in the space between the vertical words with new words (using any number of letters, making the words all the same length is usually too hard). First to complete the challenge wins.

Example:

SafE

NocK

AsthmA

KitteN
