
Youth Ministry Lessons:In a recent and alarming trend at private universities, many Christian organizations are finding themselves on the outskirts of campus life, slowly being pushed to the fringes for their religious beliefs.



The idea of birth control is controversial no matter what the context. Should the government be allowed to force institutions to offer birth control? Do parents have the right to say whether or not their children can receive birth control?



Youth Lessons: Though much attention is given to the actual numbers of divorces, new research coming from Georgetown University and the University of Chicago is focused specifically on how divorce affects children ages five and under.



Youth Ministry Lessons: In India when a son marries he is given a huge dowry, or a financial gift from the bride’s family, that is handed over to his parents. Because of reasons like this, most Indians would rather have a son than a daughter.



Youth Group Lessons: In India, a tradition that dates back hundreds of years, is still plaguing poor, rural communities who live on less than a dollar a day. The tradition is that of selling your young daughters into prostitution once they have reached puberty.



It seems that one cannot escape words like “organic”, “green” and “eco-friendly”. A casual trip to the supermarket can become a barrage of expensive, “healthier”, items placed discreetly by regular products, enticing consumers to buy organic ingredients.



Youth Group Lessons: It would appear that humans aren’t the only species with a liking for alcohol. Recently a moose in Sweden was found hanging in an apple tree, drunk from the fermented apples he couldn’t stay away from.



Youth Ministry Lessons: For generations the symbol of freedom has been the automobile. Ask any baby boomer and they can probably describe every detail of their first car, but that has been changing and something else seems to be giving teens their freedom.
