Harry Potter was one of the largest phenomenons the world has ever seen, and now kids that grew up reading Harry Potter are in college, earning non-magical degrees and playing Quidditch on the side.

No one ever imagined the television set declining in importance but recent data from the Nielsen group, a company that follows media use, is showing that younger Americans are slowly moving away from the tube.

Youth Group Lessons: Perhaps no celebrity couple in the history of entertainment has been featured, blogged about, and discussed more than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, or Brangelina as they have affectionately been called. .

Youth Resources: Statistics are tracked such as overall movie sales to determine what people are interested in seeing when they shell out their hard-earned cash at movie ticket counters. And the current trend of what people are paying to see is a hopeful one.

Youth Group Lessons: A few years ago it was Pillow Pets and plastic gel bracelets, and now thanks to Nike, consumers have a new target to obsess about! Nike has released its new NBA All-Star sneaker line and it has created quite a ruckus, to say the least.

Youth Ministry Lessons: It is rare for an awards show not to have some type of controversy. Be it wardrobe malfunctions, sexualized routines or political comments, chances are something will make headlines when Hollywood celebrates.

Youth Ministry Resources: Linsanity. If you have yet to hear of this term then chances are you’ve been living in a bubble, somewhere outside the world of sports and popular culture. Recently, Linsanity was described as, “A state of euphoria”, and for good reason!

Youth Lessons: “The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.” Celebrities must endure certain ridicule, but is attacking someone’s appearance so commonplace it’s accepted now?
